Northeast Catholic’s Centennial
On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, alumni gathered on the steps of what used to be Northeast Catholic High School for Boys to celebrate 100 years since the school's first opening day.
The Oblates administered and staffed North from 1926 until it closed in 2010. At its height, over 100 Oblate priests, brothers, and seminarians lived at the Oblate house next door and taught at the school.
The “class photo” brought together graduates from across the decades. The school’s legacy continues through the faith, service, professional accomplishments, family lives, and lifelong friendships of its alumni.
The gathering was one of the signature events in a yearlong celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the opening of Northeast Catholic High School.

About Northeast Catholic High School: Northeast Catholic High School opened in Philadelphia in 1926 and educated generations of young men in the Catholic and Salesian traditions. Guided for decades by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and dedicated lay educators, the school emphasized faith, character, service, academic achievement, and brotherhood. While the school closed in 2010, its mission and traditions continue through the lives of its alumni and the work of the North Catholic Alumni Association and the Norphans.
