Mr. Chris Allen, OSFS Professed Vows
Mr. Chris Allen, OSFS, professed vows as an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales this morning at Our Mother of Consolation Parish in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia.
After completing his novitiate year, a man in formation makes a profession of vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Chris will live these vows and renew them annually until he professes perpetual (final) vows. At these perpetual vows, he will make a lifelong commitment to the Oblate community.
Upon making his profession today, Chris received a profession cross, symbolizing his shared inheritance of Christ's cross and his commitment to the congregation.
Chris will continue his studies towards a Master's degree in Divinity at The Catholic University of America. He will move to Brisson Hall, the Oblate Formation House in Washington, D.C., and live with postulant Will Garbe, Director of Formation, Bro. Dan Wisniewski, OSFS, and Assistant Director of Formation, Fr. John Extejt.
The Oblates are grateful that Chris is back with us after a short period of absence from the community where he served as Director of School Ministry was on the Theology faculty at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, PA.
Bro. Dan Wisniewski, OSFS, Director of Formation said, “What a joy for all of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales to witness the profession of vows by Chris Allen! It continues to be a pleasure and privilege to walk with Chris on his Oblate formation journey. He is a sign of hope for our Church!l”
The Oblates invite you to pray for Chris and for all our men in formation. To learn more about the Oblates or to invite a man to consider the Oblates, please visit www.oblates.org/vocations.
Live Jesus!
