Teens Volunteer at the North Carolina Diaper Bank

On June 19, teens from Oblate apostolate Holy Infant Catholic Church in Durham, NC, dedicated a full day of service to the North Carolina Diaper Bank, helping ensure that families in their region have access to essential hygiene items, including diapers, wipes, and menstrual products.
Throughout the day, the group sorted and packaged thousands of diapers, which will be distributed to families in need across North Carolina. Their efforts support the Diaper Bank’s mission to promote dignity and health for babies, children, and adults experiencing poverty.
This experience is part of the Oblates’ DeSales Service Works, our broader commitment to form young people in service through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching. Teens are invited to respond to real needs in their community while deepening their faith and developing a stronger understanding of justice and compassion.
The program also reflects the heart of Salesian Spirituality—nurturing the little virtues of humility, gentleness, and generosity. Through serving others in small but intentional ways, these young adults embody St. Francis de Sales’ call to “Live Jesus” in everyday life.
