A Place of Hope

Brisson Bala Bhavan (BBB) has been a place of hope for underprivileged children in India. Established by the Oblates after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, BBB ensures that children from vulnerable families have education and a nurturing environment. Brisson Bala Bhavan has made a large impact, helping young people grow in confidence, dignity, and purpose. This mission believes every child deserves self-respect and the chance to reach their full potential. BBB hopes every disadvantaged child will achieve success and secure good positions in life.

Brisson Bala Bhavan's mission began by providing children with free education. Originally, the program provided free residential accommodation and comprehensive support to those in need. Within this nurturing community, children received stability and guidance, along with an education. This success was possible due to the generous and continued support of benefactors from Germany, Austria, and across the globe.

As the needs of their communities evolved, Brisson Bala Bhavan evolved, too. BBB redefined its goals, ensuring it was able to recognize the importance of family and local support systems. The mission transitioned to a non-residential model, allowing children to be with their families while receiving a quality education and holistic assistance. This new approach allows a greater number of children to receive assistance, especially those coming from single-parent or low-income families.

Beyond academics, Brisson Bala Bhavan is dedicated to creating supportive environments for children of all faiths and backgrounds. The selection criteria were created to identify students with the greatest need and potential. Whether they are coming from struggling families, have ill parents, or are facing physical challenges, resources reach children who will benefit the most, while fostering their talents and potential.

Brisson Bala Bhavan is helping to build a brighter future for India’s youth. These individuals are learning not only how to be successful, but also to be compassionate members of society. Education rooted in dignity and love reflects the Salesian mission and helps countless children achieve their dreams. Through this mission, young people are reminded that they are seen and valued.
