Fr. Joseph F. Chorpenning, OSFS, presented “St. Joseph among the Norbertines: An Untold Story,” as the inaugural Norbertine Library Lecture in Art & Theology, at the Abbey of Santa María de la Vid, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 7, 2023. The only theological library in New Mexico, the Norbertine Library supports the Master of Theological Studies (MTS) Program offered at Santa María de la Vid Abbey by Saint Norbert College, De Pere, Wisconsin, which is the only graduate theology program in New Mexico.

A world-renowned authority on St. Joseph, Fr. Chorpenning is the author or editor of a half-dozen books on Joseph and the Holy Family, including Francis de Sales: Sermon Texts on Saint Joseph (2000), Joseph of Nazareth through the Centuries (2011), and, most recently, Saint Joseph: Reflections on a Father’s Heart (2022). He has also published more than two dozen articles on St. Joseph and the Holy Family in scholarly books and journals in the United States, Canada, and Europe, and has been interviewed about his research on St Joseph by national media outlets, such as Catholic News Agency, Fox News, and Time magazine.
