Tomorrow, 133 cardinals will gather for the papal conclave to elect the new pope and it has sparked the a new surge in real-world event betting. People around the world are placing millions of dollars on who the next leader of the Catholic Church will be.

As betting on the papal conclave rises in popularity, Fr. Thomas Dailey, OSFS, weighed in on Marketplace Business News this morning: "There is one thing markets can’t account for, though: 'A really big factor that no one you know necessarily talks about — because it's hard to talk about, and you certainly can't bet on — is the role that the Holy Spirit plays.'"
