Celebrating the Life of Fr. William Keech, OSFS

Fr. Keech, who passed away on October 14, 2023, would have been celebrating his 100th birthday today, Feb 22. He was a professed member of the Oblates for 75 years and a priest for 66 years and held the distinction of being the oldest Oblate in North America.

He was a teacher, pastor, friend, artist, councilor, veteran, and devoted Oblate brother. One former student said about Fr. Keech: “he not only practiced what he preached; he lived what he preached.” In the language of St. Francis de Sales, he “lived Jesus.” Fr. Keech's legacy continues through all those he positively influenced during his life.

As we pray for him, we share with you our video of the inaugural Salesian Service Award honoring our beloved Fr. William Keech, OSFS, which you can watch here.
