Holy Family Parish Mission
Holy Family Parish in Adrian, MI, held its Parish Lenten Mission this past week titled: “We are the Body of Christ: A Servant Church / Somos el Cuerpo de Cristo: Iglesia en Servicio”.
The presenters for both evenings were Fr. Brian Zumbrum, OSFS (English Presenter), Fr. Erik Jorge, OSFS (Spanish Presenter), and Sr. Patty Harvatt, OP, who led the youth mission.
The goal of the Mission was to be the spark that sends attendees out to be Christ for one another; for we are the Body of Christ, a servant Church.
On the first night, attendees gathered together in prayer and song, then broke into smaller groups to listen to the presenters. The evening concluded with a washing of the feet ritual. After having their feet washed, each person would then wash the feet of the next person - a moving reminder that we are called to serve one another as members of the Body of Christ.

On the second, and final night of the mission, talks and discussions explored how we become the Body of Christ we are called to be, where every person finds a place where they are chosen, empowered, and loved. For the final ritual of the evening, everyone was invited to sit at tables with people they did not know—to love the stranger and literally break bread together.
Thank you to all who made the Mission possible: Fr. Brian Zumbrum, OSFS, and Fr. Erik Jorge, OSFS, the parish staff and volunteers, the Knights of Columbus who helped serve dinner, and the Women’s Guild and Guadalupe Society.
We invite you to watch both nights of the Parish Mission below!
