St. Margaret of Scotland Church Parish Mission
St. Margaret of Scotland Church hosted the Iron Hill Deanery Parish Mission on Saturday, March 7, with Fr. Jim Greenfield, OSFS, as presenter.
The theme of the Mission was: Living Flexibly in an Anxious World” using insights from Salesian Spirituality and Scripture. Speaking about the legacy of St. Francis de Sales, Pope Francis praised the saint’s realization that “the world was changing, and the mark of a completely evangelical response was flexibility and a farsighted vision.” We, too, are challenged to be a church that is outward-looking and free of all worldliness, even as we live in the world.
Over 300 parishioners from local parishes attended the event along with ten priests from the Iron Hill Deanery, which includes eight parishes and fourteen churches. By all accounts, Fr. Jim gave an extraordinary presentation and homily, and the event far exceeded our expectations.
Below are a few pictures from the day.
